Tirpitz, along with Bismarck, were the two largest battleships of the German Navy during World War 2. Tirpitz was sunk by RAF bombers on 12th November 1944, and Flight Lieutenant R. C. Harvey served as navigator to the leader of the squadron, receiving a DFC and citation. The medals are accompanied by badges, buttons, documents, maps, photographs, cuttings, and an original piece of the deck of Tirpitz. This group to be sold in our auction of Medals, Militaria and Weapons on 1st & 2nd April 2025.
