Local Wartime Heritage

In our auction 21-22 March 2023 we sold a 'scramble bell' from RAF Lakenheath.

Lot 617 in Auction #233 was vended by descent from a serving member at the airbase during World War II. This bell dates from the Battle of Britain era, and may have been used to scramble fighter planes at that time. Estimated at £400 to £500, it realised a hammer price of £2800.
