Chinese Ming Dynasty double green celadon vase.
One of the star items in our 12-13 July Fine Sale is lot 1130, believed to potentially be one of a pair of vases which must have found their way into the charity shop system and were picked up for bargain prices of between £7 to £8. One vase, very similar to this, also purchased from a charity shop, appeared on the Antiques Roadshow 25/9/2022. The owner of the present example saw this episode and brought their own vase along to one of Lockdales' Valuation Day roadshows. It was entered for auction at between £3000 to £4000, and sold for £3400 hammer!
