SPORTING PROGRAMMES
& MEMORABILIA

Vintage sporting programmes command strong interest. Lockdales has sold some of the earliest and rarest programmes, some of which command thousands at auction.
During the First and Second World Wars, a shortage of paper meant the public was encouraged to recycle ephemera, including sporting programmes. This has greatly added to the scarcity of pre-war material. We prefer to deal with programmes dated prior to 1960, as those are the ones of greater interest to collectors. Most are of modest value and are usually sold as collections, but the price on the day of auction could still be surprising!
