Lockdales has chosen to support and work with local charity Headway Suffolk.
Life after brain injury is difficult for the person and their family. The change of personality and loss of functions means many partnerships end. It is usually Headway clients who have to move out of the family home and become homeless, or end up in in appropriate provision. Headways has been looking at how to solve these problems, and now we have a very exciting solution.”
Headway Suffolk is a registered charity in England which offers advice, rehabilitation and support services to anyone who has sustained a brain injury. This vital charity works with adults over the age of 16 who have acquired life-changing brain injuries resulting from a wide range of causes, such as an accident, stroke, virus, tumour or neurological conditions. It’s an exciting time for Headway Suffolk and we’re thrilled to be able to help them achieve their ambitious plans to build a new £5 million rehabilitation hub and housing centre on the Ravenswood Estate in Ipswich. The hub will be named after scientist Professor Stephen Hawking and will offer local adults facilities for rehabilitation and support. It is expected to open in 2020. We will be supporting Headway Suffolk by holding various fund-raising events such as valuation days and auctions over the coming months.
