November Auction of Coins & Collectables achieved total sales of £436,000
This was a fantastic result and exceeded the total pre-sale top estimate. Both auction rooms were packed with attendance. Highlights included the Caterpillar Club badge to Flight Lieutenant Bram Van Der Stok, one of the three "Great Escapees", which sailed above top estimate to £2700 hammer, with a little help from international media coverage. Some fine weapons were sold including a 'blue' cavalry sword from the Napoleonic Wars for £1150 hammer, and an American Bowie knife for £680 hammer. The coins were exceptionally popular, with results such as £1250 hammer for the Henry V Quarter Noble, and £8400 hammer for a George VI Sovereign 4-coin set.
The next auction will be The December Sale of jewellery, watches, art and antiques on 5th December; catalogue now available online.
The next auction of Coins & Collectables will take place 26-27 January 2019, with consignment open until 7th December.
