27-28th January 2018 auction of Coins & Collectables achieved total
sales of £406,000
Highlights included the triple-portrait billon ant of Carausius, which sold for £7000 hammer (£8365 including premium). There were high grade Celtic coins that fetched superb prices, the highest being £3200 hammer for a choice stater of Dubnovellaunus of the Trinovantes. There were good results for Distinguished Conduct medal groups of the First World War, as well as interesting QSA Boer War groups. The football programme section was exceptionally popular, with the highest result for a single programme being £1050 hammer for Derby County v Leeds United 26 Dec 1929 First Team. Some high grade Charles I Royalist badges in the Exonumia section rounded out an excellent sale.
