His citation notes on the 27th May 1940 C.S.M. Mulholland encountered enemy armoured fighting vehicles, an enemy machine gun opened fire at troops, Mulholland with a bren gun engaged the enemy which promptly ceased firing. This allowed his fellow troops to gain shelter.The DCM is believed to be an official replacement (sold as is)

Jones got his MID as Asdic Operator on 6th May 1943 when he detected and held contact during a counter attack on a Submarine attempting to attack Convoy HX. 231 from a position ahead of the Commodore. Jones is also entitled to the DSM (missing from group) serving as LT/JX 213977 J Jones HMT Marjorie M. Hastie, the reference for this award is in ADM/12 file HA/400/45 however the PRO File states 'File Not Retained'. So more research needed!

Lloyds Medal and MBE group- Lloyds Medal for Saving Life at Sea (Small Silver), MBE (Military), 1939-45 Star, Atlantic Star, Defence & War Medal to 'Third Officer H.V.Nielsen, M.V."Empire Knight", 11th February 1944'. Comes with research, copy of original newspaper cutting, etc. The Empire Knight broke in two during heavy seas, rescue ships stood by but could not get close, in the end only 20 survivors out of a crew of 44 were saved. Helge Vemer Nielsen (Danish) was awarded his Lloyds Medal and an Honorary MBE. Nielson rowed a small boat to safety single handidly saving himself and two others. VF (6)
